Week 11: Plate Results

It was struggle to find the best broth, time frame, and temperature for L. casei, L. plantarum, L. casei, and L. rhamnosus to grow in. Then the next struggle was the best technique to display inhibition that the various lactobacillus was supposed to do to the E. coli. And that technique was the plugs! To do a plug, first put lactobacillus on a TSA plate and E. coli on another TSA plate. Next take a empty test tube and make it sterile by putting it in a flame and wait for it to cool down. Then put the test tube on the lactobacillus plates and punch a circle out. Then put the circle on the middle of the E. coli plate and incubate at 33℃.
And look at the amount of inhibition!
